Day 10 - Jamey Copperfield

Today I performed only my second diaper change.  Why?  Two reasons:
1) I'm mainly on Savannah duty while Sharon takes care of the baby.
2) It's a complex procedure.  It involves cleaning the remaining part of the umbilical cord and some extra care due to the circumcision.  Now don't get me wrong.  I know the procedure.  I even taught Sharon some of the procedure (that part relating to the circumcision).  But knowledge and experience are two different things.

Jameson is a typical boy baby in that you have to be careful when you're changing him lest you get sprayed...or parts of the room get sprayed.  It takes a certain degree of skill to make sure he doesn't leave his mark on the world around him.  Sharon has the process down and so is currently leaving me out of the procedure until things get...well, simpler.

But there is one problem.  Jamey has the ability to pee without being seen.   What do I mean?  Well, Jamey, like most baby boys (and girls) will pee when he is exposed.  He may wait a few minutes but it will happen.  Sharon has learned how to catch it and channel it in the right direction.

Another victory, right?  Sharon will get his diaper and pants back on, and pick him up...only to find that his clothes are all wet.  He peed.  But when?  Where?  How?  The whole diaper change was being watched and monitored.
So today I attempted this very complex procedure and performed it flawlessly.

I picked him up to carry him out of the room but then noticed I felt moisture on my hand.  The back of his shirt was soaked in urine.  But how?!  When??  I didn't see anything...
The sleight of hand....

...the amazing work of...
Jamey Copperfield.

Now will his parents work some magic of their own and get their baby to sleep tonight?
